Distraction Burglary Warning

Good Evening Residents

I just wanted to bring to your attention that on 2nd July 2026 at approx 18.30 hours an elderly female was targeted in the Pheasey area, no offence was committed but the footage appears it could of been a distraction burglary.

A mixed race male aged approx mid/late 30's turned up at the lady's address on a black electric bike carrying a Just Eat bag on his back.  He rings the lady's doorbell and claims he was being followed and asking to come in.  Fortunately the lady suspected something was off and did not open the door.  She was speaking to him via the ring doobell and he was at her address around 5 mins repeatedly asking to come in.  The resident felt uneasy with this and suggested to him she calls the police, after she said this he left sharply.  

The male was wearing a black wooly beanie hat with black neck scarf and sunglasses, wearing grey joggers, with a beige jacket and white t-shirt underneath - bearing in mind it was a very hot day!!!!!

Please if you know of any elderly residents or any family members who maybe vulnerable please ensure they have door chains on and if they are not expecting any visitors to not open the door.
